Look into a mysterious, mesmerizing world where life looms large.

You'll see giant bluefin tuna power their way through the water, while hammerhead sharks, pelagic rays and giant green sea turtles swim just inches away.

The stunning one-million-gallon exhibit is home to one of the most diverse communities of open-ocean animals to be found in any aquarium.

Don't Miss

Return of the Pharaoh Cuttlefish

We're happy to once again have pharaoh cuttlefish on exhibit! Hovering in the shallows like spaceships, these cuttlefish hunt crabs and fishes, propelling themselves through the water using their frilly fins. If you've missed these masters of disguise, you can find them in our Tentacles special exhibition.

Growing South American Sea Nettles

Our clever aquarists have figured out what it takes to grow our surreal South American sea nettles. We were the first aquarium ever to display these spectacular drifters after growing them behind the scenes from tiny ephyrae (babies), received from a lab in Argentina via FedEx! You can behold these beauties on exhibit in The Jellies Experience.

Revealing Tuna Secrets

Our Tuna Research and Conservation Center, a partnership with Stanford University, is achieving unprecedented insight into the lives of bluefin tuna.
