Become a marine scientist for a day! Experience the natural wonders of Monterey Bay first-hand as you work alongside Aquarium naturalists aboard the Derek M Baylis, a 65-foot sailboat designed for ocean research.

Ages: 8 to adult
Join us for a spectacular sunset sail on the waters of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Enjoy light refreshments and watch for wildlife on the bay.

Get an insider’s view of the Aquarium. Each 50-minute tour will give you a chance to interact with our staff, discover the hidden life of animals and learn about our ocean research.

ArtSea

Ages: Families with children ages 3-7
Come mix art and science in this special program designed to spark creativity in our youngest visitors. Join a local Abrakadoodle artist in creating a unique art project inspired by artists such as Laura Bryant, Romero Britto and Alexander Calder.

Underwater Explorers

Ages: 8-13
In this unique, underwater adventure, kids ages 8 to 13 surface SCUBA dive with our staff in the Great Tide Pool and meet the amazing critters who live under water. Kids get a fish's-eye view of the tide pool as they float safely on the surface.

Youth Group Seashore Sleepovers

Ages: 6-14
Youth groups can have a great overnight experience at the Aquarium. It’s a chance to explore the Aquarium after hours, and sleep beside our world-class exhibits. Throughout the evening, we'll offer a variety of activities led by our staff.

Morning Rounds

Ages: 8 to adult
Interact with our exhibit animals as an aquarist would. Go behind the scenes before the Aquarium opens and see what goes into the start of each day. You'll even feed some of our animals.

Fishing for History: A Cannery Row Tour

Ages: 10 to adult
Journey through time along the street made famous by John Steinbeck. Discover Cannery Row's history, from the time of Monterey's native peoples through the days of the "Sardine Capital of the World." Co-sponsored by the Monterey Maritime and History Museum.
